History of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first Sikh Guru,
was born in 1469 at Rai Bhoi Ki Talwandi, now known as Nankana Sahib
in present-day Pakistan.
His teachings focused on one God, equality of all human beings,
honest living, compassion, humility and service to humanity.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji rejected discrimination based on caste, wealth,
status or background.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji travelled widely during his spiritual journeys,
known as Udasis. Through these journeys, he shared the message of
peace, unity and remembrance of God.
Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib
Gurdwara Janam Asthan marks the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
It is one of the most sacred places in Sikhism and a major
